A Guh-Guh-Guh-Ghost!
a/n: For Aangel, who was wondering if I was going to be doing any Halloween fics this year. I managed to kick one out! Enjoy! *** Mikey stared into the two little voids floating before him. He’d tried several times before, with the same result: he could still see nothing inside the floating white sheet but darkness. He had been afraid of the dark as a child. No, that was a lie… It wasn’t the dark he was afraid of; it was what could have possibly been in the dark that scared him. Anything could have been lurking in that gloom, and his hyperactive imagination conjured up infinite entities waiting to pounce on him should he put a tiny turtle-tot toe out from under the covers. He’d acquired this little tag-along when he and his brothers had gone to check out an abandoned house. They’d chased off a couple of punks who were trashing the place, and no one had even seen the little spectre until they were halfway home. From the prickling of the scales on the back of his neck, he
'AOtGO' – The Sixteenth Date: 27th - 28th Sept “Hey, April!” April swung around, smiling brightly at the sight and sound of the cheerful, other-dimensional turtle. “Hi, Mikey!” she greeted warmly. She tried to peer past him. “Are any of the guys with you?” “Nope!” Mikey shook his freckled head. “They're okay with me coming here on my own now,” he explained, his heart fluttering with a faint anxiety that perhaps he wasn't actually welcome without them but he worked to dismiss the stupid feeling because April, like Casey, had welcomed him to this world with open arms from the very start. He'd been stuck here for close to a month and a half so far and things hadn't exactly gone smoothly at first. His other-dimensional family had offered to help him but him being here was hard on them all, considering how they'd tragically lost their own Michelangelo. Thankfully, they'd warmed up to him since and Raph and Leo, in particular, seemed happy to have him around. April nodded seriously.

How Much is That Turtle in the Window ch 1
“Ah, you are awake at last, turtle.” Moaning in pain and bewilderment at hearing the deep, menacing voice far too close for his liking, Mikey struggled to open his eyes. Man, but his head hurt. And his shell, his stomach, his liver, his... everything. Everything hurt. Even his teeth and eyeballs. A sudden excruciating twist of his arm had him gasping in pain and crying out, his eye flying open all the way. The other was so badly swollen he could barely see out of it. Ignoring the pain, he whipped his head around, trying to work out what was going on when he saw Dogpound's maliciously grinning form towering over him, looking delighted and mean. That was when he remembered. He'd been starving and since there was almost no food left in the lair other than cereal, fruit and ramen, he'd snuck out after curfew to get a late-night snack. As he'd been about to return home, full and feeling sleepy at last, Dogpound had appeared and taken him by surprise. He'd been badly outnumbered so he tried
As soon as Mikey's last birthday party was over, the prankster began again to count the days of the long wait of a year to enjoy the next one. Mikey hardly managed to contain his happiness to know that he would soon enjoy a great party to celebrate when he came into this world. But his yearnings began to turn into constant reminders to all the members of his family. They started to get upset at the slightest mention of the long-awaited day of the youngest turtle. At first, they could ignore him, but Mikey got to a point where his brothers were nervous as hell. "Raph, do you know what is gonna happen in a month?" Michelangelo had crept up behind the couch where his brother in red was sitting, taking him by surprise. The hot-headed turtle frowned after letting out a short scream of fear. He was about to pounce on Mikey for having interrupted his turn to watch TV. "I don't know," Raphael responded rudely after rolling his eyes, "Isn't it the fool's day?" "No hothead! It's the day you

It was getting pretty late in the night when they finally left, Donatello putting bandages on Raph’s feet. The bulky turtle didn’t even notice the deep cuts before their family doctor applied a disinfectant on them. All the while, Casey was carrying Leo. Raph had insisted Mickey does not come to close to the leader. Who knows what the Oni was still up to ; better play it safe. The youngest was so shaken, he couldn’t stop crying and reaching to take Leo’s hand, or touch him, as Casey tried his best to keep him away. The leader was still in a deep comatose, but breathing evenly. He looked peaceful again. For someone who had just taken a dive to certain death, it was a sight to behold. As soon as his wounds had been attended to, Raph got up and relieved Casey from his burden, carefully securing the leader – once again – on his deformed shell. He had thought of carrying him bridal style, but they had a long way to go to reach the lair. And he wanted to be home as soon as

Mickey felt feverish again. Nothing alarming yet, but still, he was weaker. Donnie had fixed him some liquid solution to take with his morning fruit juice – and it tasted so bitter that it completely ruined the sweetness. However, the young terrapin was told he could not afford to make things difficult. « I synthetized some hormones with samples I took from myself », the genius had said. « I couldn’t risk using Leo’s or Raph’s blood, for I’m not sure about the Oni’s impact on our leader’s metabolism – and I’m affirmative Raph’s organs are too mutated for this », the genius added while handing the seagreen turtle a bottle labelled with his name. Mickey couldn’t repress a shiver, hearing someone talk about their brothers’ conditions with such nonchalance. But again, it was Donatello. « Take a sip everyday. It’s necessary to maintain your energy homeostasis », the genius had added. Mickey had cast a blank gaze at him. « More English, less scientific nerdy slang

Waking up, Michelangelo felt completely refreshed. No one could tell he was missing something inside his body. He didn’t pay it too much mind anyway ; the more he would think about it, the more he would feel gloomy – and scared. Just knowing it happened was enough for him. He was stretching and yawning laudly, still resting lazily on his bed, when he suddendly remembered his recording device. He managed to catch some good sound before getting knocked out – it was so below the belt, by the way. How could he ever ninja his way out of such perverse, magical attack ? Back to his recorder. Looking around, he remembered he had lost trace of his bag ; it probably was still in the laboratory – or even worse, in the sewers. Hoping Raph had brought it along with his turtle butt, Mickey jumped out of the bed – and immediately felt a dizzy. the room was spiraling around him like a merry-go-round, and he had to grab his chair to find some support. Even sitting down on the floor,

Please note that there is no chapter 7, since I'm following the chapter count on AO3 and Ch7 was dedicated to showing some illustrations for the trailer :-) Everything was quiet in the lair. Three turtles and one rat had separated to go to their respective rooms, and try to catch some sleep – however, Raphael couldn’t help but get up to check on his youngest and eldest brothers. The first one was sleeping soundly, with a goofy face, like nothing had happened. At least, he had remembered to remove his "glass shell" thingie, and had even showered. More suprinsingly, Leo seemed to sleep peacefully too, breathing evenly. The bulky turtle was impressed, and really hopeful. Quietly, he closed the door, a smile on his face. It was the first time he saw the leader sleep so well, since the night he got possessed. Raph knew it for sure, since he had made an habit of checking on his family after bed time. He always had a hard time watching his brother roll and turn in his bed

CHAPTER 1: Sound hunting Michelangelo was resting his back against the headboard of the bed, dreamily staring at the pipes above him. Ploc. Ploc. Ploc. Small drops of water – or anything liquid enoughto produce the sound – were falling and colliding with the edges of the hollow tubes. Creating an interesting rythm that had him quickly captivated. He thought about his latest composition, « part of your seas ». He got hugely inspired by the Disney classic « the Little Mermaid » when playing it on his synthetiser. It was full of hope and memories of summer nights at April’s farm, dozzing under the stars on the roof of the barn. Only thing missing back then was an actual sea, but the nearest lake more then made up for it, allowing for wonderful swimming sessions in and under the cool water. Such wonderfull mental pictures, playing before his

“Yep, I’m heading home, Leo. I met with Nobody and got the low down on the guy he wants us to watch,” Mikey said, talking into his shell cell while he jogged across the rooftop of an apartment building.
He listened as he jumped across to the next building. “Nope, just the one night. Nobody said he’d be back in town day after tomorrow.”
Mikey rolled his eyes in response to Leo’s next admonition. “Chill bro’. I’m not making any detours. It’s dead out here anyway.”
Finally released from the call, Mikey tucked his shell cell a
